Hi Everyone:

I'm currently looking for a teaching job in China, and I've applied to several places (sent resume and cover letter). The response I usually get is: "send a picture, copy of passport, and copy of diploma". Is this a typical response? I completely understand if they want to know I really have a B.A., but having been to China, I'm concerned my passport information is going to end up for sale on the streets. Am I just being paranoid?

Thanks!

Yep. If you don't send it, you won't get a job. Nationality, place of birth, age are all verified by passport.

Stop being paranoid over the passport copy. But um, perhaps start being a bit over the contract that you might be signing as that is where the real troubles can be hidden here.
