Well, if the thread's topic is any indication of where it's located...that's out in the middle of the desert...if it's at Sweihan AB. I do know that ZU has people working out there, but it's the first time I've heard of a "men's campus", ZU being a womens' university Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

It is between AD and Dubai (but closer to AD), near Shahama.

It's Sweihan, it's military and ZU staff are teaching males out there.

I was told that it's a 35-40 minute drive from Abu Dhabi (inland). Staff who teach there live in Abu Dhabi.

Yes, it was confusing when people started talking about how ZU was starting up a "Men's" college. It took awhile for it to be clear that they were merely taking over some of the military contract jobs.

I certainly wouldn't like spending 1+ to 2 hours a day commuting in the often scary Emirates traffic. Laughing But then, I got into overseas education to get away from US commuting.

Actually ZU intends to start up actual men's campuses in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in 2 year's time.

One wonders about the need... why set up something to compete with HCT? (under same ministry and budget rules) One shouldn't try to use common sense, but wouldn't it make more sense to expand current running facilities? Rolling Eyes

Oh! VS! You SURE have been outta this place for too long! Surprised I used to tell my wife when we were in the Magical Kingdom, "How can you expect common sense where sense isn't common".

But, really! Expecting logical decision-making out of this population is like...is like..., um...expecting something to happen in the future because it happen a certain way in the past under similar circumstances! Laughing

Come back, VS, come back to the Land of Logical Decisions and Rational Driving Techniques! Rolling Eyes

Oh dear, VS, you wouldn't recognise the place now. Different sheiks have to make money and education's now the cash cow. HCT is cutting back on students & staff are being relocated. Other places are more...or less...competitive.
