Dear All
Thought I'd introduce myself as I'm new here. My name is Sidonia, 21 yrs old, and apart from being Vincentian (born in St. Vincent & the Grenadines), I am both American and British Very Happy . I have been surfing through the forum for a while and registered myself as I have been able to do my TEFL here in Koh Samui, Thailand in January of this year.
Unfortunately for the lack of a Bachelor's Degree just yet, there have been no 'legal' opportunities just yet, or at least the employers don't wish to apply for one. So its still rather new to me. However I do love teaching (always have) and love to be around kids and anyone else for that matter.
I am now going to be moving to Bucharest, Romania with my partner by June 9th.
I've browsed the Romania forum and have learned some valuable information but I was wondering maybe if there have been any new developments since and is it virtually impossible to work legally without a BA?(I have Cambridge A levels)

Thanks for your help in advance.

If you are British I assume you have a British passport. If you have a British passport, you're an EU citizen. If you're an EU citizen you are entitled to live and work in Romania without a work permit. Therefore, if you have a British passport you can work here legally.

Obviously, not having a BA might make it hard to get a job at certain institutions, and to be honest there are very few language schools in Bucharest. Perhaps a private kindergarten might be interested in employing you as a native speaker although they probably wouldn't pay much. Self-employment would be another alternative.

All the best,
Mike

Why Romania? YOur best bet would probably be private classes.

Well my partner has signed a contract there. So that means we move together.
I'm also a spa therapist so I'll be looking into that avenue as well, but I do like teaching.

I'll see what best I can find when I arrive also.

Thanks
