Hello!
I'm in my last year of college, majoring in English. My school has a program where they give you a grant and send you overseas for a semester (about 4 1/2 months) to work or do volunteering jobs. I was wondering if anybody here had any ideas. Ideally I'd like to work somewhere, even if the money isn't that great. Would it be impossible for me to teach English somewhere that really needs it if I don't have a teaching degree and am just finishing up school? I realize it is a long stretch. If not, are there any other jobs out there for somebody like me? I don't speak any Thai. My last option is volunteer work, does anyone know of any credible places?
Also, how much is rent a month in Bangkok? I'm not looking for anything nice, as long as it is not a complete shithole.
I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks.

It's probably best not to teach for wages....if you don't have a clue as to what you're doing. Hardly fair on the students is it?
But if you fancy some volunteer work, have a look here:

Depending on the area and what you want, an okay apartment can be found for 4-6,000 Baht a month. |
