Can I renew my FM2 without an employer as I am married to a (working) Mexican? |

I think you would have to change your status first (another wedge!) to economic dependent, then start the refrendo process. Although, I managed to change my employer and renew at the same time when I was still on the FM3. All this assumes you are married by law, and have done the process to put that status on your FM2. |

What Phil said.
If you still want to be able to work, you want to change your status from "authorized to work for company X" to "authorized to work as an independent". The fact that you are married to a Mexican may factor in (you may have to submit a declaration attesting to the marriage, which both you and your spouse sign) but it won't be the basis for your application for status change, unless you want to change to an economic dependent without authorization to work.
At least that's my take on it, based on personal experience. It goes without saying that these things vary. |

Thank you. I think that that is the best option. I trust there isn't too much paperwork? |

Paperwork? Vague memories of having to present a letter describing proposed activities, possibly a couple of letters from clients (or was that for some other trmite?), maybe proof of education (degrees) and definitely a fee, which according to this http://www.diputados.gob.mx/LeyesBiblio/ref/lfd.htm source, is $1850 pesos (Article 13IV).
And all the same ID, copies and declarations that you usually have to present at a refrendo. |
