Yo,
I'm interviewing in Toronto on Friday so hopefully the drive isn't for nothing. I severely damaged my left knee in high school football and I will absolutely require medical insurance just in case I re-tear anything. I have heard that ECC won't accept anyone with any "pre-existing conditions," but this seems ridiculous and illegal to me. Will I be able to get decent insurance without having to empty my wallet if I get accepted?
Also: How often do you have to sit on the ground crosslegged teaching classes at ECC? I saw some pictures on their website showed people teaching this way. This is an absolute impossibility for me. I know the Koreans would consider me a cripple, and I'm not sure how far Japan is in accepting people with a noticeable hitch in their stride. |

Get National Health Insurance at your local ward, city, town or village office when you get here.
As far as the kids go:
Usually when you teach kids, you do it with exaggerating gesturing and monkey dances.
Don't worry, you won't be doing much sitting. |

I don't have anything to offer as far as what to expect, but I'd just like to offer my support. I hope everything goes well for you!
