|
|
I know that students in some centers schools depend on their programs so much and if a teacher calls in sick, it means lost time to them. That especially in schools that have their programs focused on their specific goals.
I wonder if any of you work under such conditions where you need to make up for your classes you miss due to your illnesses which means you get paid for sick leave only to work overtime later.
Cheers and beers to all hard working FTs in China |

Yes, if you don't make up they will deduct your pay cheque
accordingly.
As I work from Mon - Thurs I don't have any public
holidays since most of them fall on Fridays.
Moreover, if you point out to them their error in calculating
the income tax they won't do anything about it. This will be
my last semester with them after finding out lately that I have
been cheated for the last 2 years. |

i guess it all depends on where or what we teach...if one has a let's say 12 week program to accomplish then the teacher could do it even with that one or two missed classes and no harm is done..get it in your contract, i'd say.....however, if you just teach some oral b*ll and've got some cr*ppy head mastur...
cheers and beers to all that are careful with their signatures on their contracts |

so, if one's got a 16 teaching hours week to make up for .. i mean those 16 hours put into next few weeks schedule on top of the already contractual weekly hours
in my world, the whole program/course of an FT overall/the set time (weeks, months) matters rather than making up a class (few classes) that one could not attend
cheers and beers to our contractual agreements |

| I'm at a pubic university and the time I miss equals no income, but that's probably due to the fact that I'm in a rotten uni. |
