Has anyone heard back from them yet? I just heard that I got accepted a few days ago! Words cannot even express how happy I am. I was very unhappy with how my group interview went, and I was afraid it would have had an impact on my overall interview, but I guess not!

Congrats on getting the job. I interviewed almost 2 weeks ago at a different location and haven't heard back from them. I made it to the second day/personal interview. I am guessing I should hear back from them by the end of this week if I got the job. AEON was my first choice, but I have an interview with GEOS in July as a backup.
Anyway, congrats again! I hope you have a pleasant experience with AEON and enjoy Japan. |

I just got the rejection letter after the GROUP (!) interview in LA. 2.5 years in Korea teaching both kids and adults, and I got beaten out by a bunch of pimply-faced anime nerds...at least some of them, I can presume. |

Could you describe how your group demo lesson went wrong? I am in a similar position with ECC, praying God graces me with fortune and makes this go right for me. |

I don't know - I wasn't given any reason for my rejection.
Maybe I wasn't smiley/"GENKI" (god, I'm not even in Japan and I'm already tired of foreigners using that word) enough during the demo lesson - which I think wasn't too bad. It was better than some of the others.
Maybe I had "too much experience."
Maybe they didn't like how I was fairly insistent on being placed in the Tokyo or Osaka metro areas on my application.
Maybe they didn't like that I left the bottom button of my jacket unbuttoned.
Slightly bitter, maybe? Haha.
At least I don't have to drive up there for the 2nd round/personal interview. |

Anyone of 1, 2 or 3 would have been enough. Hell, No. 4 would probably have done it.
Don't sweat, you win
ps. I'm certainly not bitter, I was accepted by AEON and walked on them after 3 months - Looneytunes! |
