A true story:
Very recently an organization e-mailed me; they suddenly & unexpectedly had an opening at a private (elementary) school, was I interested?

Yes (my reply), they said great--when can you be here? Within the next couple of weeks, at the latest, BUT how can we arrange a work visa, so quickly?

Not to worry, said they:
after entering Nippon on a regular tourist visa (usu. when I go to Japan, they stamp me for 90 days), they'd process the proper documents, I'd return to Immigration & they would then give me a work visa (no need to leave & return?).

So far so good (it seemed). I was told to expect a phone call, I was called, and all seemed quite spiffy (good). But, I discovered the opening was (maybe?) not so urgent after all, blah blah blah -- and they might not need me till January Question

So, now I'm in the process of getting a straight answer (I hope), but who knows what will happen. I don't want to say the name of the organization (in case they monitor this site?) ha! Shocked

Why am I mentioning this? Cuz I'm still looking for a firm way to return to Japan. AFTER I'm back again, in a teaching environment, I have great expectations, hope to crank out several journal articles within the first year-18 months, & more. Journal articles I know, will greatly increase my chances of moving into a uni or college teaching slot.

I am posting this since I know several of you either do hiring, or are in position to recommend someone. Keep me in mind, OK? ( Now, I'm also looking at Mexican, Taiwanese & Chinese universities.)

In return for sponsorship, I'm happy to spend a year or more--in a stellar teaching performance--other than at a uni (could provide opportunity to do some research, too?). I'm flexible.

I genuinely love teaching kids (& they like me! Cool ), have other solid experience, excellent references, MA in Foreign & Second Language Education (TESOL), and more. Oh yeah, & a wonderful personality, too. As some of you regulars might know by now! Very Happy Very Happy

PM me if you wish, we can take it from there.
