with no management infrastructure or checks and balances of any kind, Nizwa is losing most of the honest, sincere, capable instructors, which is sadly to the detrement of Nizwa students. Sure they can always find more instructors from CFBT, yet what usually occurs is people get a bit fed up with being "let go" targeted by the "manager" completely at his whims, for no reason whatsoever and, (I have heard) sometimes because they are from a certain western country. Who wants to work in an institution such as this?

So I ask you.....Who's minding the farm?

Dont restrict your ideas with only Nizwa, I believe many of the colleges are the same if not worse.

When you say Nizwa are you referring to the university or to one of the colleges?

Id say the colleges, the university has a better reputation as an employer.

Nizwa University has ' a better reputation' as an employer than the tech or science college in Nizwa - I think not. Depends who you listen to. This academic year at the University has been as wonderful a farce as ever. The College of Applied Science is probably the most disfunctional though as it has the wonderful trinity of a simpering Dean, a vicious hyper-vengeful HoD and paper tiger/paper doll CfBT country manager who between them have reduced the College to even more of a shambles than the chaotic University. FYO the College of Applied Science is an unsafe work environment. It would probably fail a health and safety report and as far as staff security goes CfBT payrolled backpackers have no where to turn. CfBT offers new recruits less than those few who are still on board, who are in turn falling behind Ministry pay increments by the semester. CfBT is tied up in this shameful disaster and while they self-protect any teacher who works for them needs to watch their back.
