I currently teach in China and will have 1 year of experience when l leave for Buenos Aires, Argentina. I don't have a TEFL cert.
Obviously here in China TEFL certs. are not really necessary nor verified if someone has proclaimed ownership. So my questions are thus:
1) If I get my certificate via a 200$ online course, do you think anyone would even care in Argentina (not that I got it online per say, but that I even have one)
2) Since finding jobs in South America via the internet is a little more difficult than most places, would you recommend spending the extra money to take a real-life course in the actual city I want to teach in [BA]
Would appreciate any responses =]
Edit: It's 200$ for the Online TEFL cert or 1,600$ for the 4-week classroom TESOL cert. Is there a distinguishable difference between a TEFL/TESOL? |
