There was talk of it being only a 1-year show. Haven't heard that it has been cancelled just the same. |

Actually, its supposed to be a 3-year show. And I have heard nothing of it being cancelled either. Yet, this is the UAE...everything is subject to change at any time for any reason. |

Did you hear/read that the program was canceled? If so, where did hear/see this information? There is no mention of the program being canceled on the Al-Ghad School`s Website. |

The rumor goes that Al-Ghad schools program will run only in Dubai and accordingly the staff members will be withdrawn from all schools in different Emirates and relocated in Dubai schools!!!!!!!!! . |

I have heard that future expansion may only be in the Dubai area, but I certainly haven't heard of the program being pulled from the existing schools. |

No-one in any of the schools anywhere across the Emirates has a contract for longer than a year. They are ALL either for only 1 year or probationary for 1 year. The reason all the wise people are looking at opportunities available elsewhere for the new academic year! |

You really need to get some different sources. Either you are getting bad information or you are just making this stuff up. I have seen WITH MY OWN EYES at least 3 contracts that were each for 3 years. The only 1 year contracts I know of are the Principal Advisors. Teachers and everyone else all have 3-year deals.
Now, if funding will be available for more than one year? No one knows yet. |

Either you didn't read the contracts closely enough wannago or you didn't read my last post properly. Everyone employed by AlGhad is on a 1 year probationary period - that means, everyone can be asked to leave after 1 year without any legal ramifications for the group or whatever else you like to call it. And yes, people from the highest level have been leaving from the beginning. Funding - again as I've said before, the money ran out long ago. |

1) FACT: There is no "probationary period" in the contract or elsewhere. 2)FACT: What the 3-year contracts DO say is that if the program is cancelled, there are no legal ramifications. 3) FACT: Again, this is the UAE...anything can happen at any time for any reason and it doesn't just apply to this program. 4) FACT: Yes, one top dog left in the beginning...because he contracted cancer. |

Who/what are you trying to protect wannago?! Grab a contract from a friend or read your own very carefully. 1 year's probation is on ALL contracts! More than 1 'top-dog' left and their departure had nothing to do with cancer or any other disease except for the culture of dishonesty associated with this lot which continues to be practised by you too, sadly. |

Yes, the program will run next year. Yes, our contracts are for 3 years; BUT 1 yr is a probationary period. Yes, the program stopped in Abu Dhabi, this is becuase a company took over the Ministry there. This company already had their own program so why have another program to compete with. The MAG program is still running in all other places. Yes, the head guy left, well is leaving; IMO, he needed to leave.
If you work for the program would it be a good idea to look for another job.....YUP!!!!
This is a new program and the reality is it was a good idea but bad planning. I have managed to become friends with a few of the admin and they feel it is a good chance the program will be going on next year. However, it is up to the NEW people in charge. There has been BIG changes in the ministry and many people have been replaced or moved to other project. So now we have people that were against the program working for the program and this is were there problem will be. |

Zoot,
The man that left did have cancer. It sad that you did not know that. Another thing is he didnt work for MAG. He ran a program that worked WITH us. He was in charge if the PA's. they have a seperate contract. It is worded differently and is only for 1 year.
Now, Larry, he messed up and he was replaced. Are other admin people leaving. Yes, several are; I dont blame them really. This program has been mismanaged. Too many hands in the cookie jar.
However, the good thing is; even with all the mess, and I can only speak for my school. The kids are learning. We are working in small groups. They are doing hands on activities. There has been an improvement. Could it have been better. For sure!!! But this is what happens when you have people working for you the company that should never have been there. |
