I'm curious how many of you secured jobs after arriving in Vietnam. I taught in Japan for a number of years and some of the language schools there only hire teachers outside the country. Do schools like ILA and Language Link hire teachers who are living in Vietnam, living outside Vietnam, or both? |

I know of at least 2 that have secured jobs out there after arriving. I have not secured a job in Vietnam yet. I took the advice from a couple members and decided to just fly out there and start applying. I am making sure to take enough to live comfortably for 3 months just in case I don't find a job right away. I will also be taking enough to purchase a plane ticket back to the states in the event that I absolutely cannot find a job, but this will NOT happen.
I spoke with a guy that works for ILA (website staff, not a teacher) and they do hire people from outside of Vietnam. |

Language Link hires locally and overseas. If you are wanting an overseas contract, you need to be well qualified and experienced. Overseas hires are only on a one year contract.
You also need to have all your paperwork ready; police clearance, your degree and 100 hour TEFL/CELTA. This is especially important for Americans. |
