Hello Everyone,

I've got a big favour to ask! I'm doing my MA TEFL dissertation on Communicative Tasks from Text Books. My Tutor thinks this will be a good topic if i can get data from Teachers in Japan (I'm coming to Japan in August to teach but i've got to finish my dissertation first!).

So, is there any chance i could interview any Teachers in Japan, or anyone who has taught in Japan, for just 10 minutes on SKYPE during June sometime to ask their views (don't worry, it will all be anonymous) I'd really appreciate it.

As i'm new here, if you could send a private message to me with your email then it'd all be confidential. I hope to hear from you!

What exactly do you mean by communicative tasks? I would imagine that all tasks in textbooks would be guiding students towards communication...

Good point and your right, i used the term Communicative because the Task is geared more towards speaking than writing, and more focused towards student interaction than other tasks that may focus more on grammar. You seem great for my interview, how about it?

What criteria are your teacher interviews based on in order to get an accurate cross section of data? Years the teacher has been teaching? Academic background of teacher? Environment where teaching takes place?

Well, i'm going to be teaching University Students in Japan (intermediate level mostly) so i'd like to interview teachers with any experience teaching young Japanese adults at intermediate level. However, my chances of that are looking slim and so it'd be sufficent to interview teachers with any form of experience teaching in Japan.
