Hey guys, please excuse my ignorance to new visa rules. I've surfed through these topics but would appreciate any new info I can get.
I was just in HK two months ago and met a young guy who was there getting his Z visa and it took him about a month. When I lived in China before, I could do the entire Z visa from within China on a tourist visa. After reading numerous posts it appears it's not that way anymore.
I'm finishing up a year in Korea and have signed a contract with a university back in the motherland. I have not gotten a letter of invitation, and I plan on travelling for a couple months before starting there in September. Does anyone recommend I get a tourist visa for China before I leave here just in case, or do I need to push hard for a letter of invitation some time in the near future? (It's only been 12 days since I signed.)
Are there any suggestions? This is quite a daunting process as I'm sure you all know. I was especially surprised when I couldn't even get an L visa in HK anymore. Times have changed, I know this is old news for you guys... but I appreciate any help you might have for someone coming back. |
