Hello Japan forum.
I currently teach in Mexico and would like to head to Asia in the future. I started the application process with one school listed here on Daves: Westgate?
I'm at the 'third stage' of the lengthy application process and it is asking for professional references who can evaluate me as a teacher, and that the references will automatically be sent a questionaire. Well this is my first teaching job and I'm not ready to tell anyone that I'm applying for other jobs yet, and these are the only people who can evaluate me as a teacher.
I had held off on finishing the application about a month ago when I got to that point, but then I recieved an email from them reminding me that they are waiting on the completion of the 3rd stage of the application process.
That's good I think but now I really need to respond.
What should I do? Give them some former professors or even friends and tell them to do the questionaire in my favor?
Thanks for any suggestions |

Westgate is not exactly a school. It is more of a dispatch agency with short-term contracts (3- or 7-months).

If you don't tell your employer, you'll have to fudge. Co-workers are the next best thing, as long as you trust them, but using them will still look a bit flaky to any prospective employer. Go with your gut feeling.
Oh, and don't use friends. Even Westgate wants people with professional credentials. |
