I'm wondering, is there much opportunity to pick up extra tutoring work in Brunei?
I'm a qualified primary and secondary teacher, currently in Jakarta and looking into the CfBT programme. However, I'd like to supplement my income if possible.
Are the local students big on after school or weekend tutoring? Or is there plenty of opportunity with the expat children? Are there any government regulations forcibly restricting this type of work?
What are the going hourly rates?
I'd be looking at tutoring in Math, English and Physics.

Hi
Yes, it is possible. Several alternatives - privately or through CfBT ...they run classes in the evenings and Friday mornings and pay an hourly rate- around Br$35, I think....Or you can advertise at the international schools to do extra tuition - I sent my daughter for extra maths tuition to a New Zealand teacher and she asked Br$30 per hour. Or you could get together a small group and probably earn more.... |

Thanks for that. It sounds as though there's some opportunities around to earn some extra coin. Good to hear.
