Hey guys.... Just a quick one. I've been offered work by both Shane and Hess,
The salary is crap but it gets me over to Taiwan. Has anyone worked with both?
Does anyone know if Shane offers contract completion like Hess?
The salary is around 45,000 for a month(I was making 68,000 in Taipei!!)
Hess 6 days, Shane 5
Thanks |

Congratulations on your job offers. Where will you be working? I reckon 45,000NTD goes further in some places than others. Location would matter a lot to me. I've never worked in Taiwan, but am considering it in the future. From what I've read on these forums 45,000 sounds a bit on the low side. Hesse would make you work 6 days a week? That is ok here and there, but no fun if it is part of your contract and you have to teach 6 days a week every week.
Just curious, why are you interested in living and working in Taiwan? |

45,000 a month is no good, especially in Kaohsiung....go onto www.kaohsiungliving.com and look for jobs on there....they may not offer free flight over, but at least you wont be getting paid $20,000/mth less (at least) than you should be |

I agree with Big Wally. $45,000NT is not acceptable. No way, no how. I live in Kong Kong these days but I was working in Taiwan (Taipei) in 2003-2004. Even back then I was making $70,000. That was only a 5 day week although the hours were quite long.
Listen to what Big Wally says. There are hundred of jobs that will pay better than $45,000. Seek and you will find. |
