Hello Everyone,
My wife and I currently work in Nizwa and are transferring to Salalah at the end of August. We hope to find an apartment before leaving at the end of the month but it seems very unlikely as most places are rented out during the Khareef. Where does everyone leave their stuff while they're away during July and August? We were in Salalah last weekend looking around at some possible places to rent but many don't have contact numbers. Does anybody have any information on the new pinkish building close to the beach in the Dahariz area? Looks like apartments but no number. We would appreciate any information you have on accomodation in Salalah and look forward to hearing from you. |

Hi,
Now is a really bad time to be looking in Salalah - sorry. The building you mentioned is i believe full (and also very expensive) - mostly here you have to go in and knock on a door and they will give you a number!
However, try Haj Mohammed (Al Sikeena) - 23290663. They have many properties and often full time contracts rather than 10 month ones.
Also, don't forget that whilst the idea of living near the beach in Salalah is quite lovely, Salalah is humid and damp especially June - Sept, and especially near the beach!
If you would like any other help or a place to stay temporarily before end of August, send me a PM |

With the high humidity in Salalah this time of year, you might want to leave your stuff in Nizwa until you come back. I'd check around with the housing people or even students on where to store it.

Have been trying to call that number for the last few days but either that person is on a very long holiday or they have changed numbers.
VS you make a good point about the humidity but we would really like to avoid driving back to Nizwa from Salalah if possible.
Do you guys know if there are any villas available at Al Bhustan? Or if there will be for September? |

Hi CAV,
There are a couple empty villas here now but I doubt for very long.
If you are coming with CfBT, let them know you want a place here, I believe that they have an arrangement with the management.
