Hello people:
I know that it's an elementary q, but in China anything seems to fly. You see, at my school the admin has an unofficial 'no-speak to the director policy' which makes it hard for me to get pertinent info such as health coverage, etc. Anytime, I've visited the director to discuss issues like this in the recent past, I've apparently stirred up 'trouble' and would subsequently find myself in the doghouse for the succeeding weeks. I want to avoid this.
Regardless of what's stated in the contract, by what other means can I check to see if I have coverage in China? |

"How do I confirm that I have health coverage?" -- Sped Ed
File a relatively small medical claim, say for a doctor visit for a cold or the flu, with your FAO. If you are reimbursed, this might suggest that you would be covered for a real problem should you be unlucky enough to ever have one. If you get a song and dance routine instead, you can probably assume the opposite. Many schools are self-insured, so it really depends on how good they are at living up to their agreements. |
