Anyone living here? Or nearby..thinking of moving...I know they are both on the JR Tokaido line and not far from Yokohama, but I wanted a lil more info.

Around an hour out of Yokohama at least, I think and getting quite rural- closer to Izu peninsula than the busy parts of Kanagawa. The beaches are starting to get better by the time you get that far south as well. I haven't lived there myself but know people who have and enjoyed it because of the proximity to the beaches and mountains. Good views of Mt. Fuji in some places as well.
I would be happy to live there if I didn't have to commute too far to work. |

Oiso is about the poshest place in Kanto, with loads of politicians and other highlife types having second houses there. Watch out for the restaurants without any price lists outside (most of them)! The beaches are okay, but a bit close to the highway. |
