I have just had my z visa application rejected in one province because of not having 2 years formal teaching experience. Is this something that is being enforced across the whole country or specific to certain areas?
Cheers. |

I know that it's enforced on EF in Beijing. It may be enforced on other schools/companies aswell.
I don't have 2 years work experience as a teacher, not even if i add up the time i worked at home. I work in Beijing legally, so don't let this put you off. |

Which province? How do they determine this?
I have one year in Taiwan and one year volunteer work at my university. |

My questions entirely, especially the "how would they know?"
Of course, either unesco isn't aware of the laws, or is pulling our legs
provinces do not reject z-visa applications
provinces do not acept visa applications
whatever it is you are referring to, how would they know how much experience you have had
who told you your "z-visa application" was rejected?
Lots of mis-information grows when details are not provided

I cant imagine any experienced teacher wanting to work for EF, the ultimate corporate sweatshop in the world of ESL. Through heavy advertising, EF generally preys on inexperienced teachers who dont yet realize that there are much better opportunities out there. |

EF was one of the first companies i came in contact with when i first got to Beijing (and China). I thought they were the best until i started to compare contracts.
I got contacted by roughly 20 different employers before i got my current job. EF was at the bottom-part of my list. |

The province was Zheijiang
and I am just reiterating what the school has told me, I have no reason to post false information but am just trying to ascertain if this is common or perhaps the school is mucking me around. |

Schools muck around with you all the time here. Forgive me if I soundd critical. Seriously, more information is needed to make sense of the situation.
The school applies for your invitation letter at the province/city FAO office. They can require two years experince. Usually it depends on how many teachers are needed. So it is possible your school was telling you the truth of being rejected for the invitation letter |
