There is the theory - discussed at length here, tealit, and lots of other sites - and then there is the practice.
I'm leaving my job, and have a new one lined up.
I understand the process works this way.
a) I quit my job and get a "cancellation of contract" from them
b) they do their legal duty and notify CLA that I quit
c) CLA cancels my work permit
d) CLA notifies NIA to cancel my ARC
in the mean time...
e) my new job applies for a new work permit for me, gets receipt of application
f) takes the receipt to NIA and applies to sponsor my ARC
g) I can start working the new job when my work permit becomes official
Does that sound right? I've never done this before...
My main quesiton is how much does all this cost?
thanks! |

Sounds about right, I've done it twice. If memory serves, you'll pay about NT3400 for the new ARC. Maybe NT4400. |

I just changed jobs a couple of weeks ago. My school took care of all of the paper work and got my new work permit for me. I went to the ARC office with my new work permit and my passport and paid 1000 NT for my new ARC. |
