I'd like to know, in your opinion, will having a Masters in Teaching ESOL open a lot of doors for me?
I'm planning on starting a program in the U.S. in the spring and I want to do something different.
I currently teach middle school and work at Berlitz part time.

In general, the more experience and qualifications you have, the more doors will open.

connections and being in the right place at the right time help as well.

Having an MA will help you with university jobs and/or better pay. It is sort of a minimum requirement to teach in the US, but it can still look impressive in other countries.

It depends what sector you want to teach. Masters are mainly useful (or required) for university work, but not usually needed for primary/secondary/private language schools.

Thanks for the replies.
I currently teach middle school and work at a language center part timhe (in the U.S.).
So I'm hoping to either stay here and work at the university level or move back to Brazil and work at a university there.
I don't want to stay in my current position for too many more years - I'll be burned out.
