What do you know about them already that makes you interested in a job? They have a homepage, although it's in Japanese. Have you seen it? I have a friend working there, but I hesitate to say that he'd be willing to exchange emails with you because I haven't spoken to him. |

Just spoke with my friend who works at NCB. He would rather not spread his contact information around, but he was happy to tell me about NCB.
He has been there for 4 years.
They offer a paid training program, 1 or 2 weeks long. NCB has its own textbooks, so you have to learn their system.
Classes are for high school students on up to elderly adults. Lower level classes meet for 2 hours; the first hour is with a Japanese teacher, and the second is with a native English speaker. Higher level classes usually discuss reading material chosen by the teacher or students, and the gist of the class is to make sure everyone has good reading comprehension. Classes have 1-7 students.
Your first year will give you 2-day weekends, but probably not Sat and Sun. You get all national holidays paid for. Hours on Mon - Fri are noonish to 9:30pm, and on the weekend, you work till about 5:30pm.
Apparently, the Sapporo branch (where he works) is more laid-back than the other branches. |
