Do people find dealing with Chinese recruiters is normally like this?

That's pretty standard English for recruiters, but did you ask why one of the teachers will leave in mid November?

It wasn't so much the bad English. I know how difficult learning another language is. I learnt German at high school and found it f***ing difficult, and that is supposed to be one of the easiest languages for native English speakers to learn, and I have been learning Putonghua for about six months and I find it damn near impossible to do very much beyond order in a restaurant or ask directions. So I have some sympathy.

It's more just the approach of begging me to come, without even sending me an application form, details of the college (other than a couple of brochure-y photos) or sending terms and conditions.

Bizarre, or do I just not understand how the Chinese work yet?

So, I'm a little confused. Would you all say this was a legitimate offer? I read all the responses and still was not clear.

I'd say its impossible to tell whether the offer is legitimate or not just from a short message.

To get any evidence you need to do more research on the recruiters and the schools. If you have some names to go on, search this forum, search google... see if you can dig up anymore info.

In my last job I used to receive a lot of emails from Chinese businesses. These were often quite bizarre, for example they would have dancing animations in the signature or they would forward me a youtube video of a singing panda. But they were legit businesses. They can just come across quite strangely sometimes. Especially with the obvious language difficulties.

I had a Chinese friend check them out, she thinks they are completely legit and would be a good employer, apart from the fact it's in quite a sh*t city
