I just had a Skype interview with St. James language school. I am wondering if the package they are offering sounds good to those in-the-know:

23,000 to 25,000 crowns gross monthly for full-time teachers (17 � 20 60-min hours taught weekly)

280 Ck/60 minutes + 20 Ck bonus per each hour taught for finishing 10-month contract with school + 20 Ck bonus per each hour taught that paperwork is turned in on time. That would put the amount to 320 Ck/60 min.

They cover passes for public transportation for full-time teachers as well.

They don't guarantee a certain number of hours per week, but they say that it is rare to have cancellations and that those are usually rescheduled with the clients so instructors still get paid (If cancellation happens w/in 24 hours of lesson, the school still pays the instructor).

Apparently the teachers generally have the same schedule all year since companies contract with St. James for the full 10 months. Most lessons are on company premises with anywhere between one and six students per class.

Hi Pacific.

St.James language school are a reputable language school and come recommended.
The offer is a good one and is convenient for you as you seem to want to have the security of having a full-time job lined up upon arrival in Prague.

There is so much teaching work beginning September though that you don't need to have work lined up in advance and it is always prudent to take into account a few offers at the same time - maybe also working for more than one school.

If you arrive in Prague late August then you can expect to be receiving lots of job offers.

Still, St. james do come recommended and we have received excellent reports back from them from our own grads who have chosen to teach for this school.

My friend has worked there for a year and she loves it! I would go for it.
