Hi there,
I'm doing a CELTA course with IH Krakow from 25th July - end of August and am then hoping to find work in Krakow after that and stay there for the academic year...
Is this a feasible thing to do? Will there be any jobs left by the end of August?!
Also - does anyone know which schools to go for and which schools to avoid? I saw a post on here a while ago that said that there are basically 5 or 6 reputable schools in Krakow that won't screw you around. I'd really like to end up with a job at one of them! I saw Lincoln school's ads posted everywhere on the internet and have contacted them but they haven't got back to me so I guess they've probably filled their posts for next year.
Any advice would be wonderful.
Thanks,
Katy |

It will be hard to find work straight away at the end of august but if you can hang on a month you'll be okay. Most schools have work from the end of Sept/ start of Oct. But ask around and you never know. You'll definitely find work somewhere.
When I left York school in Krakow I only applied to Stairway and Gama-Bell as I'd heard only good things about them. As for the rest of the '5 or 6' I can only guess but I'll leave it to others with first hand experience.
Don't assume that schools are either great or nightmares though. Usually it's somewhere in between and you'll always find someone that had a bad experience somewhere and another that had a great time, at the exact same school.
I went to Bell by the way, and it was actually better than I'd heard. Happy hunting! |
