DF is already a zoo, but it also has one that features animals of the non-two-legged variety.
Other posters and I are thinking a zoo get-together would be fun. The Mexico City Zoo is across the street from the museum of anthropology, and inside Chapultepec Park. Shall we say a noon meet at the gates on Reforma Ave?
PM me for directions if you need them. |

Thanks, I wasn't sure about that. Thought it might only be free on Sundays.
However, I think the special exhibits are not free. Pretty sure it's a lizard and butterfly exhibit that's on now. I doubt we're going to see Mothra and Godzilla do battle though. |

I checked the admission info before posting, just to be sure. I'd love to visit the "mariposario" (lovely word) though I'm not fond of insects, having to do daily battle with the cucarachas in my cocina and elsewhere in my apartment. According to Tiempo Libre, the admission fee for both is 35 pesos. |

How are you going to re-inact the battle of 1812 at the zoo? |

I heard that they have AMLO on display now...
Seriously, I visited a few months ago, and while it was nice, the crowds were just terrible! It was the end of holy week, so maybe that was it. |

It does get really crowded on the weekend; that's why we're getting a sort of early start and meeting at noon, so,if you make it, don't be late! |

Hey there,
I will be arriving the 2nd. If you don't mind, I think I'd like to try and join you on Saturday, provided I'm not freaking out about my classes that start on the 7th. (My first real ESL gig ever).

Sounds good! I think I'll be able to make it... Can I bring my wife and/or a friend? |

Of course it`s free. How pretentious it would be if we didn`t consider ourselves just another animal species!!!
Unfortunate that the day before the animals are not left out of their cages. Dixie, where will you be when all the critters need you? |

The best way to keep the butterflies in your stomach from flying up into your throat is to join us at the zoo where you'll be able to see real ones in their natural habitat. |
