I did a search, but it doesn't really turn up much on the content of the "Invitation Letter" for the Zed. Is there anyone out there that can give me some idea of what needs to be in it? Sample letter or template maybe?

I thought I'd also heard some talk of the letter being worded in a certain way making it possible for an individual to get it done in HK rather than home country?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Zhuhao,

Shawn

The invitation letter actually does not have a "standard" form, other than mentioning the name of the school, its location, telephone number, the duration of the proposed contract, your name, your address, your contact details, your passport number and details, the fact that all the various and sundry hiring requirements have been met and are complied with and the office to which the Invitation Letter is addressed. The invitation letter will carry a signature and the "chop" of the institution and you will need the official form, not a photocopied version. It will also be dated.

NCL1

As for Hong Kong, I am not sure at the moment if they are processing Z visas or not.

With regards to the content of the letter, I think I found what I needed, http://journeyeast.org/ChineseVisa/Forms_SAFEA.asp

Sorry!

Still not sure of the possibility of getting it done in HK. The SAFEA invitation does state that it can be taken to the "nearest" Chinese Embassy, or Consulate, but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll stand in HK if you show up there. Wish we had more definitive answers.

Zhuhao,

Shawn

At least two provinces that I know of have standard forms. Both use the yellow form upon which the provincial government fills in your name, passport number and some other data.

The other form seems to contain the same info except it is in English. If you receive both forms, send the yellow form and keep the other. If you are invited to teach at a Chinese school, you will not need to tell it what to write on the letter of invitation. The school really applies for the LOI for you after you satisfy its need to see your credentials.

It will be issued to the school by the provincial government. The school will forward the original to you, and then you, in turn, will forward the LOI, your passport, and other pertinent info to the Chinese consulate of jurisdiction.

VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. RESULTS MAY VARY. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME. USE ONLY IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. THE LARGE PRINT GIVETH AND THE SMALL PRINT TAKETH AWAY. THIS IS CHINA, ETC., ETC..

Sample "letter of invitation" form

We just brought over two new foreign teachers from the states and this is exactly what the form looked like.

Was the FT not also issued the yellow Foreign Experts Certificate? On it, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs instructs the bearer to submit the certificate as well as the letter of invitation to the consulate of jurisdiction.

The yellow form specifies that a Z visa is to be issued. The letter of invitation does not mention the visa type.

I know, because I'm holding both of mine in my hands right now. I need to send them off with my passport to get my visa so that I can return to my school.

The invitation that Tsuris provided above is only for an F visa, or for applying for Z visa through a company or corporation, not a school (As indicated by the stamp)

The appropriate invitations for teaching look like below:

The PSB Doc Looks like this: PSB Invitation Sample

and SAFEA looks like this: SAFEA Invitation Sample
