hello-
I've been trying to find information on this test, but I think my google skills are failing me because I haven't been able to find much (besides stuff in Chinese that didn't lead to anything). I did a search in this forum as well but there were no results to this topic in the first two pages. could anyone help me out and give me some links as to what exactly is on this test? it seems like there must be a lot of webpages in English on what the test is and how to prepare for it, but I'm really inept at finding it.
thanks in advance,

I kept hearing from my superiors that varsity students had to pass the 'CET 6' test; to do so they were required to master a measly 4500 words.
Maybe it was CET 4, not sure, but 4500 words at varsity level? |

Yes, that word count is quite low, but I also think that use of the word "master" is being a bit too generous as well...

Not to nitpick here, but maybe it's worthwhile to make a distinction between "words" and "word families". If I recall correctly, a college-trained native speaker knows 20,000 word families. I bet that any student of English with command of 4,500 word families would do well in the Band 6 CET. |

Those folks with CET 4 or 6 had little barring on the scores they received in IELTS or iBT TOEFL. |

I wasn't specific enough - I know what the test *is*, but I can't find any pages with things like sample questions and advice on how to prepare for it. |
