Hi all,

So, I taught English in Costa Rica in 2005, and got my TESOL cert. there. I'm now looking to go teach again in a different country. I've been teaching in U.S. since I left C.R., so I have tons of experience, and lots of Spanish too.

I have a one way ticket to C.R. to visit friends at the end of September, but I want to stay no more than a couple of weeks, and buy a flight to another country further South.

I'm interested in almost any country that's further South, but I kind of would like to secure a job before I go. I know, I know, it's much easier when you get there, but it would be nice and easy if I didn't have to.

I know my interest in any country are broad, but I thought if anyone out there knew of a school that would offer me a secure position starting in early october that would be great. My dream was to go to Uruaguy, but I heard it might be hard to get jobs there. I would also love to go Argentina, Chile, or Brazil. (However I heard that Santiago is kind of dull).

I just applied for CEDEI in Ecuador, but saw some bad reviews there.

I know I'm asking a lot, but I would love some easy answers, advice about the best city/country, a reputable school. I'm pretty flexible, so any suggestion would be great. Thanks guys, and if anyone wants help about Costa Rica, I would be glad to give it up!

Where have you taught in the US? schools? institutes? unis? YOu might be able to work for an international school. Look here for links http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=4556

I could help you with Peru if you're interested. PM me.

For Uruguay, contact misterbrownpants, she's been there for years.

I've been teaching at a non-profit to adults for the past three years in Boston. International schools are high schools, correct?

I don't have much of an interest in kids, but am open to anything I guess. What are the credentials you need for those schools? However, I think they usually hire for September, no? I won't be available until Oct. 1st at the earliest.

Thanks again, always like the suggestions.

...you're one way ticket into Ecuador won't be looked upon very well at immigration when you arrive.

how long are you planning to stay?
