I'm thinking of wandering down Mexico way. The Chinese Visa process I'm currently undergoing is beginning to drive me barmy.

What are a few good locations for plentiful ESL work? I'm not looking for a formal position at this time as I'd like to scope out the lay of the land first, and then scout out schools that suit my tastes as a venue of employment.

Till then I'd like to pay for my room and beer tab.

Lots of choice for you...I'd say stay off the coasts and look inland for an easier introduction to Mexico. Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey are the big cities and an easy place to start. There are quite a number of smaller cities in the interior to try as well, such as Oaxaca, Puebla, Cuernavaca, San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Leon, etc, etc. Language schools in all the above places are hiring year round if you want to start with informal, part time work.
