|
|
Hi all
I was hoping someone might be able to provide some information about housing allowances at either PSU Women's Campus or Al Yamamah College, as well as, the possible pay scale for a Doctorate of Education and 10 years ESL experience.
I have accepted a position in Riyadh and my wife is considering coming over. If so, she will be looking at working in Riyadh and has been told that the above two educational institutes are good choices. If someone has any other suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
I will be provided with accommodation and was wondering whether my wife would also receive a housing allowance in Riyals, even though she would be living with me. We are also trying to work out whether it is better for her to be hired outside of Saudi Arabia.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

| If she in KSA as a dependant of yours (i.e. on your Iqama) she will not get a housing allowance. |

Thanks scot47
I suppose in that case, an outside hire might be preferable.
Much appreciated

Even if your wife is hired from outside KSA, I doubt very much that you will receive a double housing allowance. There seems to be some kind of restriction against this, even if you work for two entirely separate employers. I know of one case where the wife was promised housing benefits, but when the employer found out that housing was offered on the husband's contract at another place, the housing benefit was taken from her immediately .... they were not even given a choice of whose housing to accept. |

Hi Mia.
I was wondering if this might be the case, as we have worked in a couple of countries where a similar situation occurs and only one where separate allowances for a couple are accepted. In the latter, it was considered a living rather than a housing allowance and therefore part of an overall salary package...the power of semantics.
Thanks for your advice. It is always better to have a rough understanding than jumping straight in.
All the best
