I would like to further my career opporunities in TEFL , but I am not sure which one of these two options to choose.
Which one do you believe has more value? |

Depends what you want to do, and where. You might also consider doing a DELTA followed by an MA later on. Some MA programs honor the DELTA as partial coursework for the degree (you may only have to write a dissertation). |

For university work, an MA is more valuable. Two of my jobs required MAs and another one paid more for MAs. I've never had a job that asked for a DELTA. When eventually I return home (the US), an MA will be a minimum requirement to get a good job--again, the job ads don't mention DELTAs.
But, as spiral78 said, it depends on your goals and/or where you work.

The DELTA is of greatest relevance in the private TESL sector - necessary for senior and DOS posts with 'reputable' schools like the British Council and IH. Masters degrees, as denise says, are often needed for university posts - especially for faculty positions. |
