Hi people,
I'm currently in discussion with English First in Dalian about possible employment, It all seems okay, but I have read negative things about the chain in general, so am looking for advise on this particular school from teachers teaching there now or in the recent past?
any comments on this would be appreciated. |

I have very good friends that used to work there or still work there.
One of the teachers, a black lady, was fired because they found a white replacement, then re-hired when the replacement didn't sign the contract.
The pay is lower than most other schools in Dalian. Dalian is not a poor city; it is one of the richest cities with one of the highest costs of living in all of China.
Another friend, a South African, worked there and the school compared to other EF's are low on resources and work you harder than other schools.
You will have more than usual paperwork for a private school.
Dalian itself is a nice city, but as for the school itself.... I would personally stay away. |
