I have a trip planned to climb Izta, which I know at least a couple of you are interested in. I also have one of my students and a couple of his relatives coming. We've set the date for November 8th/9th. Leave DF early on the Sat morning, camp on the mountain overnight, summit in the morning, return Sun evening.
All that's needed are a decent pair of hiking boots, warm clothing (it can get very cold up on the mountain at night), tent, sleeping bag etc.
A hired guide is a possibility.
Who's game? |

Could well be! I can see it here through the window of the room I'm working in! |

Would be good to see you there Phil. Do you know anyone who's ever climbed it? I've done a fair bit of research, but still have a few holes in the planning. |

Don't know anyone, although someone from my school once climbed Popocatpetl! Which isn't allowed now. (Come to think of it, being British you may have heard of him - David Hemplemann Adams?) But I digress.
I will do a little research myself, I know many people who know people! |
