Hi i am coming to the end of my contract in Ceran juniors in the ardennes and do not wish to return home to the Uk just yet. Would like to turn freelance as some of my colleagues have done. Not sure how it works in belgium everyone seems so vague.

Anyway can anyone give me any advice on working freelance in belgium? Would another country be better? Do you have postitive or negative experience? have applied to CLL who insist on freelance status.

So far have over 3 yrs exp. An online tefl and 60 Academic creds towards a pgce which i can't finish. So would anyone recommend i take a DELTA or maybe even a CELTA before turning freelance? The latter i read is for inexperienced teachers.

I think you should hie yourself down to Luxembourg city at the end of the month and see what's on at the two private language schools there. The pay used to be significantly better than in Beligum (though, rents are quite a lot higher as well, other cost-of-living stuff is about the same) and there's a big market for teachers. at least, there used to be back in 2001 and I assume it hasn't changed significantly.

It would probably take you some time to round up enough private students to make a living in either case. It's probably better to get what steady work you can through a language school, and work on building privates if you are going to be around long enough to do that.

WOW. What a horrible little place Luxembourg is. You would have to be earning 3 grand a month there to even survive.
