I have decided to accept a position with MAG but HCT is arranging accommodation, flights, visas, contracts etc. Problem is I am due to fly out Monday, got the ticket today(Thurs.) BUT no visa, no contract. They have been coming now for a while. It wasn't that long ago I was getting paranoid because my security clearance hadn't come through(it did eventually) but I find this worse. Thursday as a work day is now over for them so they only now have Sunday to sort these two things out. I won't fly out without a contract. Is this a reasonable demand to make of HCT. |

What does HCT have to do with MAG? Who are you working for? Something sounds very odd here...

HCT did the paperwork for a friend who moved to MAG a year ago, and who has since left, as the MAG people couldn't cope. I wouldn't leave home without a copy of the contract even though you will be given another one to sign once you arrive. |

MAG =Madares Al Ghad (Ministry of Ed.) and HCT have been contracted to do all the HR for them.
I did get a letter of offer, security clearance has happened, they sent me an e-ticket.....
But I have decided unless it all happens Sunday I am not flying out Monday. Its just not worth it. |

HCT does all the paperwork for MAG. When it comes down to it everything looks like you work for HCT. Their name is on your visa, housing, and insurance.
Last year people did not get tickets until the day before they were to leave so you are doing good.
Trust me this is only a preview of things to come with them. NOTHING is ever done when they say it will. |

allyp, Your contract isn't 'legal' until it has been approved (signed) by the MoL. Only then do you have a leg to stand on. In the meantime, make sure you're lining up a new job to move on to. MAG has been a disaster! |
