I was wondering if any of you Business English teachers out there have any games for students to play that helps students with negotiations and diplomatic language. |

Several occupations of people are on a sinking ship. Who gets to live, and who gets thrown overboard? Negotiate.
Several people with heart problems are in line for the next heart donation. Who gets it? The kid, the priest, the millionaire, etc.? Negotiate.
Plan a country. What type of government, laws, buildings, etc.? Negotiate.
George Rooks has a discussion book or two with these sorts of situations in them.
My twist is, if you don't decide within a certain time limit, EVERYONE loses (or everyone on the ship dies). |

They sometimes even use it to decide who pays. Luckily I always win (except it doesn't matter much, it is usually my wife that I play it with) !

How about the teacher assigns plenty of homework and then decides to have 'quiet time' for students to do it? |
