to the readers,
I taught at bilingual schools in Cali and Cartagena from 1998-2000. My wife(being form Cartagena) and I(Canadian) plan to return to Cartagena in the near future.
When I worked at these schools, they paid my apartment, and I had an opportunity to sign for an extra year at the school, if I wanted.
What I'm not sure of , is this:
How long can a school maintain a contract with a foreign teacher, and how long can they go on paying an apartment?????
I only signed one year contracts with the schools I taught at. Therefore, I don't know about long term contracts. Is it up to the school?? I hope someone can give me some insight on this matter. I appreciate your responses. Thanks!
John

| afaik, just about every country will allow one-year contracts, and will allow multiple one-year contracts in succession, assuming all normal requirements are met. Rules on multiple-year contracts probably vary a lot by country, and you are best off asking in teh individual country forums. |
