Last night on the freeway all of the cars in front of us started flashing their yellow lights....what does this mean?

Well, it means something terrible will happen to you if you do not flash your yellow lights!! Laughing

Was it raining last night?
Were there any traffic accident in the motorway?

I remember when I was in the magic kingdom, when it rains or in case of a traffic accident, some drivers use their hazard lights (all four indicators flashing at the same time)!!

The other possibility is to celebrate the winning of a football team, wedding event, or for a 'political' reason related to Sheikh Al-Sabah! Laughing

How is Obama playing in Kuwait? Despite the fact that Kuwaitis won't find "Barak" to be a funny name, do Kuwaitis still feel beholden to Bush and Ibn Bush?

From what I saw, they no longer felt beholden by the time I arrived 1998... Laughing

I suspect that the Arab world is as guardedly hopeful as we Americans who support him.

Well rxfaith- there are three REAL possibilities:

1) it was raining and people put the hazzard lights on here ( 50 degree heat , no rain last night)

2) there was an accident up ahead and they wanted you to slow down ( you didn't have to, ergo, no accident)

3) the cars were men on their way to the wedding hall to 'deliver' the groom to his bride. It is tradition to flash lights, toot your horn and generally make as much noise as possible. These weddings usually happen at weekends ( last night ) and late on.

I'd go for number 3.

Obama's too young, but Palin rocks?

Palin is 44, Obama 47 and McCain is 72. Strange that if age is a factor that bothers you with Obama, you don't seem to mind having a lady three years younger than he a (very old) heartbeat away from the presidency.

Oh yeah...

a 44 year old with a BA in Journalism from the University of Idaho (and Hawaii and Idaho... why 3 institutions and 5 years to get a degree I wonder) vs a 47 year old with a law degree from Harvard who was a law professor at a university in Illinois for 10 years teaching... Constitutional Law.

Someone with about 10 years of being a City Council person or Mayor of a tiny town in Alaska described by its residents as a gravel pit with a Wal-Mart and a few strip malls - population about 6000 or so - which she left in horrible financial position when she departed for the statehouse. While he spent that time period in the Illinois State Legislature of one of the larger states of the US - interestingly the same experience and work as a fellow named Lincoln. Previous to this experience, she was a sportscaster and mommy while he was an community organizer and civil rights lawyer.

The last space on their CVs are her 20 months as the governor of one of the smallest states in the US (47th out of 50) while he spent the last 3 years in the US Senate.

All she has is her pure right-wing credentials to get the worst of the Bible thumpers who think that the only important issues in the US are stopping all abortions, keeping gays in the closet where they belong, and that the Middle East oil is ours and worth killing as many Arabs as possible to get it.

One heartbeat from the presidency... of a 72 year old man with a seriously bad medical history. Hopefully Americans won't be that stupid, but they did vote for George Bush. My mother, a lifelong Republican, has been saying that he is too old and seems to be getting senile and yesterday she asked me if I thought he was insane... She's decided to vote for Obama...

So someone doesn't seem to know all that much about what Americans or Kuwaitis are thinking. (you also need to re-check your poll data...)
