I'd love to check out / start an Open Mic in Jakarta...

Has anything like this been proposed b4?

In Korea we had an awesome place. & the stage was ours so we could just say what we wanted, have some drinks, & it was all very cool. Great musicians, too...

I have a feeling that something like that would go very well in Jakarta.

BuGilz in Taman Ria would be a great spot & already has a stage...

Ideas?

i think its a great idea ....giving drunken bules a soapbox and an audience .........no doubt there could be some great youtube moments created at such events

Great idea Olpha! I would definitely be up for it too.
In fact I was enthused to read your posting, as I opened the site myself ready to post an ad to see if anyone wants to form a duo or band.
I play rhythm guitar and sing, and am itching to hook up with other people to play music.
So, if you or anyone else want to get together to jam, or think about playing together feel free to pm me.
Also...I've not long shifted to Jakarta, but I have been to Bulgil and I agree with Papua that it could be a great venue.
But...where ever you decide, ....if you go ahead with it I would be up for it.

I like it...I know Bugilz sounds like a good venue -- but realistically, it is kind of obscure...Giving directions to that place is always a mess...

Should some small pad in Blok M be considered?? Other ideas?

Not sure, but Bugils is closing its doors for good very soon. So that puts a definitive 'x' in that column for bar options.
