Greetings everyone,

I've read many posts about the issue of working illegally and the difficulty of obtaining a work permit.

My question about the permit: Is there any way I can get a head start on the application process before I arrive in Spain?

Or, once I am there, who do I apply with?

Thank you.

James

If you are an EU member citizen, the process is easy. If you are not from a European country, it's nearly impossible regardless of when you start applying.

You need a job contract to start the process, in most cases.

You'll unfortunately be INeligible for a legal work permit in Spain.

Unless you have the qualifications needed (proper teaching credentials and experience from your home country) to land one of the very rare openings in an international school (for which you'll be in line behind thousands of other qualified teachers).

Or you marry a Spanish citizen.

Or find that you have an EU citizen granny - Ireland and Italy used to be best for this.
