hello, i have signed a contract and mailed it back to the saudi employer, however recently i am beginning to have doubts about them and the more specific questions i ask, the less transparent their communication becomes. the academic side is ok, its the hr managemet that concerns me. luckily, i haven't got the visa stamped in yet. as alarm bells are starting to tingle all over my head i'm thinking about backing out and look for another employer. i know its not the nicest thing to do and please i dont need any feedback on whether i should do it or not, but CAN i safely back out at this stage and get a job somewhere else in saudia? even though i signed the contract, it actually says it is going to be effective from the date i join the company. so, practically, it is not in effect yet. what do you think? thanks |

Well, as far as your passport is clean and not stamped with the working visa of the magic kingdom, you can back out at any time. In addition, the effective contract is the one you sign when you join your employer in KSA. But, I think it should be a good idea if you contact them and inform them that due to unexpected personal/family circumstances you could not accept their offer. At least you leave your name clean with them (in case you re-apply to work with them). |
