Hi,

I am new to Spain so not sure of salary/conditions: How is 1000 euro p/m in Asturias? Accommodation not provided. I know these kind of postings are annoying but is it a fair salary? Seems a bit low but maybe it is average.
Does anyone know anything about Aviles? Is there much to do? ie: nightlife, clubs etc.

Thanks

Dawn

Not sure why you posted this in the general Europe forum when it concerns Spain and you have previously posted in that forum, but perhaps you have a reason. I found when looking for jobs outside of the big 3 cities that information was very hard to come by. Either the people who have worked there don't read this site or they don't want to reveal too much if they are on to a good thing. I notice you have been offered a job elsewhere--have you accepted or still shopping around ?
Back to the subject matter-have you done any research yourself ? I would think ex pat sites, tourist information or the local ayuntamiento website might help. Have you looked in yellow pages to see what businesses are there etc ? 1,000 per month seems to be about average if you read postings on this site and also jobs advertised throughout Spain.
Sorry if this sounds a bit critical, but you will probably have to do most of the research yourself. If nobody replies to requests for Alicante which is full of Brits etc teaching, then "Less popular" locations like you have asked about will generate less response I imagine.

fair enough! You are probably right. I`m not sure why I posted this in the general Europe forum either - it was simply a stupid mistake. Thanks for the suggestions.

Dawn you've posted several questions about completely random places in Spain but you need to be more specific about what you want from the experience.

Money? Spain isn't the place, but bigger cities would have more oppurtunities.

Nightlife? As above. With a population similar to Galway or Limerick, Aviles will have nothing more than a modest nightlife and is hardly likely to be heaving with discos.

Learning Spanish? Smaller towns like Aviles would be fine, just avoid Catalonia as it's not the best place for learning Spanish.

Beaches and sunshine? Anywhere on the south or east coast, Cadiz, Valencia, Murcia etc
