hi everyone

i'm trying to make an international call, and i just recently registered my phone for international calling with AU's new "010" service.

i need to call a friend back home, but when i dial the number it's denying me and i don't have the comprehension skills to understand the error message i'm getting.

so my understanding was you dial 010-(country code)+(area code)+(number).

so, it being a vancouver number, i assume that i dial

010-1-604-XXX-XXXX.

but it's not working and i don't have time to go into the office today and ask questions. i do, however, have time to sit in front of a computer.

If you have a built in or external microphone you can use on that computer you are sitting front of, register for Skype (free), buy $10 of credit, and you can talk to your friend for hours. Skype takes care of the country code as well.

you can buy skype credit with paypal or with a bank transfer too. there's really no reason to not use skype. you can even have incoming calls transferred to your cellphone.
