I use it for my business classes. It's ok, but needs a lot of supplementary material. Plus the vocab is a bit too business specific for the elementary level. If teaching at elementary, I would recommend a course of Headway to build up sufficient vocab first. |

Been using this for some time for in-house corporate English classes.
I'm using two different ones - Advanced Business English, and International Business and Management.
I find them pretty solid and quite well structured. I don't use the listening CD's, mainly because I don't have them, but the dialogues from the CD's are in the books, so I use them as reading / role-play which seems to work very well.
Don't know where to buy the books, I "found" my copies in downloadable PDF format on the internet.
PM for further info. |

The series is published by Pearson-Longman (www.PearsonEd.com ) - but for some odd reason, that organisation's search facility did not come up with any info re "Market Leader".
Anyway, most of the books in the series are available at the Shanghai Foreign Languages Bookstore, located at 390 (?) Fuzhou Lu, Shanghai. ( Fuzhou Lu runs parallel to Nanjing Lu East ). The prices are very, very reasonable - as you'll soon find out if you visit this shop.

Mike,
You mentioned that you obtained your copies on the Internet. Could you please PM me the details ? Better still, would it be possible to provide us all with the details,on this thread ? (It would save you the hassle of having to send out PM replies to every query ! )
Regards,
Peter |

I did a search for them on eMule - and downloaded them from there.
If anybody wants copies, PM me your email, or MSN messenger details and I will send them.
The Advanced Business English is 19.9MB - pdf format; Business and Management is 9.8MB - pdf format; both books cimbined are 28.2MB - RAR format. |

market leader's a great book for business classes. if your business class is at a good elementary level you might want to use "business basics" book which you also might be able to get at the above mentioned shop in shanghai. this book comes with course and work book as well as class cassettes.
cheers and beers |
