Hi all,
I am considering using blogs and/wikis with a small number of classes that are in the pc labs this semester. Has anyone had any experience with this and could you tell me about the good , the bad , and the ugly for setting them up and monitoring student use of the them?
Thanx in advance,

No direct experience myself (yet). Colleague uses a blog. He asks that students leave a few words as homework (points for their grade, plus it gets them accustomed to thinking outside the box of "classroom = the only way to learn"). Helps a bit with their writing, too.
Have heard that wikis are good for writing classes. Too late for me to change my syllabus to include one for fall semester's writing class, but I'm looking into it.
You might want to look at back issues of JALT CALL Journal. |

Thanx Glenski,
I will try that, especially using a blog with student added comments (maybe make a new one for that rather than using my personal one). as to using a wiki, not sure if I'm enough of a technical whiz. |
