Hello everyone. I just want to say thank you for taking the time to read this post and helping me out. I taught English in Japan for a year in 07-08. It all went well and I had no run-in with the law until my last week in Nippon. My friend and I took a trip to Kobe where we stayed in a capsule hotel. We came back from the bars and I was heavily intoxicated and jumped in the tubs at 4 in the morning. I got out and decided that it felt good to be naked. Unfortunately for me, the capsuletel had a women's section upstairs so my drunken mind lead my drunken body up there where I proceeded to expose myself to the women, most of who were asleep but the few who weren't called the manager. He came and brought me downstairs but I wasn't satisfied so my stupid rear end went back up there and passed out bare balls on the couch in the woman's area. The manager came again, woke me up ( I cooperated), brought me to my capsule. Next thing I know my feet were being tapped by Kobe cops who woke me up and told me that I had to leave the place or I would be arrested. I showed them my gaijin card and they recorded the info. All I remember after that is saying doyoubi wa amerika ni kaerimasu, apologizing to the hotel manager (as requested by the cops), and walking out.

Yeah so to make a long story short. I am in China right now continuing my fabulous career and I would like to eventually return to Japan. Is that little going away shananigan going to affect my chances of getting a work visa again in Japan? Has anyone with similar circumstances been denied a visa without having been arrested?

Anyway stupid is as stupid does I guess. You live and U learn. Gotta love being young and teaching English in Asia, though. Thanks for your help. Cheers.

No actual arrest = no criminal record.

You probably have nothing to worry about (unless you get plastered again).

Glenski is probably right. I have to say, you were pretty damn lucky you weren't arrested though.

Nobody told me Saturday went back to America. No wonder I'm not getting any days off anymore.

Thanks Glenski. You're the one who helped me get to Japan in the first place by helping me with my resume many many moons ago so that means a lot to me. Take care.

But when you're that drunk just be thankful that you can get anything out resembling Japanese.
